PWHR STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK (2023-2025)

Dedicated investments in women’s health research are transformative for improving women’s health outcomes and can generate positive social and economic returns for women, their families, and communities. Despite growing attention to women’s health and women’s health research over the past forty years and policies promoting inclusion in research and sex and gender-analysis, women’s health research remains underfunded and sex and gender are not optimally applied to generate new knowledge to benefit the health of women, trans and non-binary people.

The Partnership for Women’s Health Research Canada (PWHR) was created to coordinate and catalyze national efforts to promote women’s health research and its use. The PWHR Strategic Framework (2023-2025) is a roadmap to advance our common vision and goals.

The Partnership for Women’s Health Research Canada uses the term women to refer to all people who identify as women. We use trans and non-binary as umbrella terms to refer to people with a wide range of gender identities that are different from the gender they were assigned at birth.
