Working Together Against Sexual and Reproductive Health Misinformation

PWHR has partnered with Science Up First, a science communication initiative led by the Canadian Association of Science Centres (CASC), to combat sexual and reproductive health misinformation through evidence-based social media content.
WHAT ARE WE DOING?

In collaboration with experts from across Canada, including researchers, healthcare providers, community organizations, and advocates with lived experience, PWHR has identified key myths and misinformation that negatively affect sexual and reproductive health.
The PWHR and Science Up First teams work together to create myth-busting social media content. Each post is reviewed by a subject-matter expert to ensure accuracy and credibility.
To date, we have addressed a wide range of topics, including contraceptive effectiveness, pain during sex, the safety of acetaminophen use during pregnancy, the safety of medical abortion, and hormone testing during perimenopause and menopause.
